Position Introduction:

This is a Federal Work Study position at The Sooner Theatre (STON) in Norman, OK. General Theatre technician duties including: scenic painting, lighting, set construction, and prop work. Preparations for the live theatrical events including concerts and musicals.

  • Ability to work some nights and weekends
  • A proactive self starter with the ability to work independently

Required Education:

  • Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
  • Must attach Fall 2026 class schedule.
  • Must attach a Resume.
  • Must have received and accepted a work study award for the FALL semester.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

None

Department Preferences:

  • Knowledge of theatre
  • Basic understanding of the duties involved in technical theatre
  • Basic construction/painting experience
