Pay Range: Targeted salary $14.50 hourly, based on experience

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, work time may shift due to weather or season

Travel: Not required

Position Introduction:

Are you looking for a hands-on career where you can learn new skills, work outdoors, and be part of a team-oriented environment? Join the University of Oklahoma Facilities Management Department as an Irrigation Mechanic and help maintain the essential systems that keep our campus running. In this role, you'll develop a skilled trade while working on commercial irrigation systems, including water wells and water tower operations. You'll gain experience operating equipment, troubleshooting systems, and contributing to infrastructure projects that support one of Oklahoma's premier universities.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.

Department Preferences:

  • Trade school certificate in landscaping, plumbing, or related field.
  • GIS mapping experience.
  • Read and understand written materials such as blueprints, metrics or technical manuals.
  • Use appropriate tools or equipment with expertise.

  • Hiring contingent upon driver's license check.
