Pay Range: Targeted Salary $43,700 annually, based on experience

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Work Schedule: Primary work hours are Mondays - Fridays 8:00 am-5:00 pm, with occasional evening/weekend work required with advanced notice.

Travel: Not required

Position Introduction:

The School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (AME) is seeking a Machinist for the AME Machine Shop. The AME Machine Shop provides technical support to instructional labs used for teaching, experimental research labs, capstone projects and student competition teams. The Machinist is responsible for assisting faculty members and students in the required fabrication and modifications of equipment and facilities. A successful candidate requires a balance of technical skills (working with machining equipment such as lathes, mills, saws, and welders) and social skills to develop an understanding of the needs of the faculty members and students, to create a welcoming and safe environment in the AME Machine Shop.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • Valid Driver's License to drive vehicles on campus.
