Position Introduction:

The Fuqua Laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms that regulate skeletal muscle health during aging, with a focus on protein quality control and muscle recovery following periods of disuse. The position will involve animal studies, tissue collection, molecular biology techniques, histology, and biochemical analyses in mouse and Drosophila (fruit fly) models. Responsibilities include maintaining research records, preparing reagents, processing biological samples, and contributing to ongoing research projects. This position also offers extensive opportunities to develop skills in physiology, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, and translational aging research while working in a collaborative and supportive laboratory environment.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 24 months of related research experience.

Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
