Pay Range: Targeted salary: $14.04 per hour, based on experience

Benefits Eligible: No

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, work hours will shift due to winter season, weather, and projects

Travel: Not required

Position Introduction

Love working outdoors and taking pride in a job well done? The University of Oklahoma is seeking Seasonal Temporary Landscape & Grounds Specialists to help maintain and enhance the beauty of one of Oklahoma’s most iconic campuses.
From tree-lined walkways to vibrant green spaces, our grounds team plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. If you enjoy hands-on work, being active, and making a visible impact every day—this is the opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain lawns, flower beds, trees, and landscaped areas.
  • Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
  • Assist with planting, watering, pruning, and general grounds upkeep.
  • Support campus events and seasonal projects.
  • Work as part of a dedicated, team-oriented environment.

Required Education and Experience

  • None.

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date

Department Preferences

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical capability to perform landscaping and grounds tasks.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and team-focused mindset.
  • Landscaping or grounds experience is helpful, but not required.

  • Hiring contingent upon driver's license check.
