Pay Range: Targeted salary $13.00 - $15.50 hourly, based on certifications/experience

Benefits Eligible: No

Work Schedule: M-F 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Shifts vary depending on availability.

Travel: Not required

Position Introduction:

Teach swim lessons for children and adults. Enforce all policies and regulations and participate in regular in-service training. Preferred candidates have the availability to begin work in May 2026.

Required Education and Experience:

None.

Skills:

  • Must be able to swim 50 yards each of the following strokes: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, side stroke, elementary backstroke, and butterfly.
  • Must be comfortable teaching and responding to questions regarding the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program.
  • Must be able to respond in an emergency at any time.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification.

Department Preferences:

  • Must be able to lift no less than 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and teach each of the following swim strokes: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, side stroke, elementary backstroke, and butterfly.
