Pay Range: Targeted salary range of $16.54/hour - $21.06/hour, based on experience.

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday Standard / Fixed Schedule

Travel: Not required

Position Introduction

Provides chair-side dental assistance to students, faculty and residents in the Dental Clinic for dental procedures. Fills out and updates pertinent patient information in the correct charts/systems. Makes sure equipment and room are sterilized and ready for patient and faculty/students/residents.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience performing chair side dental assistance.

Equivalency/Substitution: Possession of a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential may be substituted for1 year of dental assisting experience

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • Current Oklahoma Dental Assistant Permit or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Required to have 2 of the 4 Certifications from Oklahoma Board of Dentistry:
    • Radiation Protection and Safety
    • Coronal Polishing and Topical Fluoride
    • Placement of Pit and Fissure Sealants
    • Assisting in the Administration of Nitrous Oxide
