Pay Range: Targeted salary: $15.00 hourly, based on experience

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel: Not required

Position Introduction:

This position collects usage data for books, databases, and electronic journals, both compiling spreadsheets with data and monitoring SUSHI harvesting loads within Alma, maintaining records and files. This position has regular contact and communication with vendors to investigate issues with usage reports and access issues. This position systematically monitors electronic access and maintains the library's electronic resource records. This includes monitoring Community Zone task lists to identify issues in changes automatically initiated by Ex Libris to ensure ongoing access to electronic resources. Other duties include projects to compare and update publisher collections and proactively check for online access to subscribed titles. This requires understanding of complex issues related to serials and electronic resources. This position also manages monthly supply requests for the department and other duties as assigned to fulfill the function of the position.

The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills:

  • Ability to perform highly detail-oriented tasks, analyze needs and develop action plans, and coordinate with appropriate personnel as required.
  • Ability to set priorities for self and others, to meet deadlines, complete tasks and projects on time and within budget, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong initiative and ability to adapt quickly to changing demands.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via email and telephone with customers and resolve issues and problems in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Ability to work with personal computers and software, the Web, and library-relevant information technology applications.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 12 months office, clerical or administrative support experience.

Department Preferences:

  • Experience working in a detail-oriented position in an academic or public library.
  • Excellent technological skills, including Excel skills, such as PivotTables and advanced formulas.
