Position Introduction:

The position will assist the Southern Plains Transportation Center (SPTC) in office/administrative assistant duties and outreach/conference/event planning. These duties include answering the phone, responding to emails, updating websites, recording minutes of meetings, coordinating with partner institutions such as the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, and universities across the country. Other responsibilities include assisting in conference planning and execution, ordering supplies, preparing promotional materials such as flyers for events, digitizing and scanning materials, and dissemination information to key stakeholders.

The student assistant may be called on to edit documents and prepare written summaries of events. An ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively both in written and verbal form, have effective computer skills, and be good at multi-tasking, organization, and prioritizing. Must have a strong attention to detail and be deadline oriented. Must be able to work autonomously or in a group. Must be a current student at the University of Oklahoma.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a combination of two terms as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
