Pay Range: Targeted salary: $60,400 annually, based on experience

Position Introduction:

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a Senior Utility Project Field Coordinator to lead complex infrastructure and utility projects that keep campus systems running safely and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you'll bring projects to life, coordinating contractors, overseeing real-time work, and ensuring safe, high-quality execution across plant operations, distribution systems, and dynamic field environments, including tunnels and mechanical systems. Be part of a team that powers OU's operations through precision, safety, and excellence.

Essential Duties:

Coordinates and implements complex utility infrastructure and construction-related projects within plant, distribution, and campus utility systems. Provides direct field coordination and oversight in active work environments, including tunnels, confined spaces, and areas involving heavy equipment and large-scale boilers and chillers. Ensures safe, efficient, and effective execution of work by directing contractors, monitoring project activities in real time, and providing essential on-site observation and guidance. Supports planning and implementation efforts to ensure projects meet operational, financial, quality, and service objectives while aligning with departmental goals and standards.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 4 years of project coordination, project management support, or related experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.

Department Preferences:

  • Plant operation and maintenance experience.
  • GIS data collection experience.
  • Ability to work independently without daily supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both with team and with contractors.
  • Experience with using project planning software (ex: MS Projects).
