Pay Range: Targeted salary $35,000 - $43,700 annually, based on qualifications and experience

Position Introduction:

The Vu Lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology is seeking a motivated Staff Research Assistant to join our team. Our research focuses on the molecular basis of antifungal drug resistance mechanisms in Candida species. We are looking for a research technician who will conduct lab-bench and animal research work. The ideal candidate should have at least 12 months accumulative wet-lab research experience in Biology, and have prior experience with molecular genetics and aseptic techniques. Prior experience in working with small animals, such as mice, is preferred but not required. Having a background in bioinformatics is a plus.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Sociology, or a related discipline aligned with the specific area of research or project focus).
  • 1 year of experience supporting research or working in a laboratory setting.

Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.
