Pay Range: Targeted salary range of $38,700 - $45,000, depending on education and experience.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, Standard/Fixed Schedule

Position Introduction:

The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Research Assistant to support a growing portfolio of clinical, translational, and/or basic science research projects. This position plays a critical role in advancing the department's research mission by providing technical, administrative, and operational support for funded research activities. The Staff Research Assistant will work closely with principal investigators, faculty, research staff, and collaborators to assist with study implementation, data collection and management, laboratory procedures, regulatory compliance, and research coordination. The successful candidate will contribute to the execution of research protocols, maintenance of high-quality data and documentation, and achievement of project milestones. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in research to gain experience in a dynamic academic environment while contributing to innovative projects that advance scientific knowledge and improve patient outcomes.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Sociology, or a related discipline aligned with the specific area of research or project focus)
  • 1 year of experience supporting research or working in a laboratory setting

Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.
