Student Office Assistant – Center for Major and Career Exploration (CMCE) (Fall)

Pay Range: Targeted salary of $10/hour, based on education and experience.

Benefits Eligible: No

Work Schedule: Targeted 10-15 hours per week within Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Supervisor will work with employee to create a schedule that fits around their class schedule.

Travel: Not required

Position Introduction:

The Student Office Assistant supports the Center for Major and Career Exploration (CMCE) by assisting with daily operations, student engagement initiatives, events, communications, and special projects. This position is ideal for a student who is dependable, self-motivated, creative, and eager to develop professional skills in a collaborative office environment.
Through this role, students will gain valuable experience in project coordination, communication, event planning, data management, customer service, and career readiness while contributing to the mission of helping students explore majors and career pathways.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and operational support to CMCE staff
  • Support front desk staff as needed in welcoming and assisting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, and monitoring the office email account
  • Assist with the creation and preparation of office materials, spreadsheets, presentations, and other departmental resources
  • Contribute creative ideas and assist with promotional efforts for CMCE programs and events, including posters, flyers, social media content, and campus outreach
  • Support planning and execution of departmental programs and events, including event setup, logistics, and participant engagement
  • Assist with CMCE courses as needed, including preparation of class materials, attendance tracking, and light grading
  • Conduct basic qualitative and quantitative research, data entry, and assessment activities under supervision to support program evaluation and institutional initiatives
  • Run occasional campus errands related to departmental operations
  • Take initiative in identifying opportunities to improve processes, resources, and student experiences within the office
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
