Position Introduction:

Provides support for OU special events and experiences, including ribbon cuttings, graduation ceremonies, tailgates, receptions, luncheons, dinners, lecture series, and other events. This position will work around the student's class schedule but work hours may vary from nights and weekends.

Required skills/job description and duties:

  • Assist in organizing guest lists and attending list.
  • Assist with organization of event support materials.
  • Prepare nametags and other event materials.
  • Pack/unpack event supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with event set up and tear down on-site, as needed.
  • Answer event-related phone calls and emails.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • General office and customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Must be detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
  • Ability to multitask, be organized, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work in stressful situations.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and accept direction from supervisors.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
