Pay Range: Targeted salary $43,000 annually, based on experience

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with some occasional nights and weekends hours

Position Introduction:

The Office of Admissions & Recruitment (OAR) makes connections and creates experiences with the next generation of Sooners by supporting domestic and international freshman, transfer, and concurrent students throughout the application and decision process. Our team operates from Norman and across the state, nation, and world, partnering with faculty, staff, parents, counselors, and communities to provide guidance and resources to prospective students. Our goal is to build a vibrant OU community by recruiting the most academically qualified students with a variety of educational, service, involvement, and community experiences. We seek individuals who exhibit integrity, care, intentionality, and innovation.

Essential Duties: This Admissions Counselor will work with the OU Office of Admissions and Recruitment and the OU Tulsa team to recruit and admit students into the programs on the OU Tulsa Campus. Regular job duties include: building and fostering relationships with prospective transfer students and applicants, university team members, school counselors and advisors, alumni and other stakeholders; planning and executing events; using our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) communication system in data strategy and planning; making transfer and readmit application decisions; conducting informational presentations about OU to various audiences; other duties as assigned.

  • Recruits students for the programs offered at the OU Tulsa Campus;
  • Attends recruitment fairs, school visits and presents guest lectures to students;
  • Assists with helping set and coordinate enrollment goals for the programs offered at the OU Tulsa Campus;
  • Serves as a liaison between other colleges, admissions and records, information technology and other relevant local, regional, and national associations;
  • Serves as a resource to guide prospective students about the admissions process and will facilitate and coordinate related application processes;
  • Serves as a student recruiter for programs offered at the OU Tulsa Campus; responds to prospective student and applicant inquiries; represents the college at career fairs and guest lectures held at other universities;
  • Serves as a resource to guide prospective students about the admissions process and will facilitate and coordinate related application processes of the college; schedules admissions committee meetings and prepares related documentation, sets up on-campus visits, and works to enroll prospective students;
  • Maintain and distribute information to students regarding scholarship and career opportunities; serve as the liaison/coordinator between on-campus and external entities;
  • Serves as a member of various project teams and may lead projects;
  • Provides timely reports and projections for students at various stages of the recruitment funnel;
  • Provide administrative support for transcript printing, one card operations, key card access, and other tasks as needed.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
