Pay Range: Targeted salary: $63,000 annually, based on experience

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday Standard / Fixed Schedule

Position Introduction:

The Assistant to the Vice Provost provides essential coordination and administrative support for a range of Academic Affairs priorities. This role works closely with senior leadership and collaborates across the University to help ensure that projects, communications, and daily operations move forward smoothly and effectively. The role requires sound judgment, professionalism in handling sensitive information, and a collaborative approach to working with a wide range of partners across the university.

Support:

  • Provides logistical coordination and project management for various academic affairs operational functions and workflows in support of the Vice Provost.
  • Handles high pressure and sensitive matters and projects for the Office of the Provost as necessary.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Office of the Provost, and the colleges/departments on assigned areas

Administration:

  • Performs day-to-day administration and coordination of department responsibilities, including scheduling meetings, drafting documents, planning events, answering phones, organizing workshops, and other office tasks.
  • Assists in the selection and/or training of assigned staff.

Projects/Programs:

  • Prepares and maintains statistical and operational reports.
  • Assists with tracking, submitting, and processing academic reports and documents to the OU Board of Regents and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education for the Norman Campus.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 36 months project management and supervisory experience over staff or programs.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months? relevant experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, in addition to the 36 months of relevant experience, for a total of 84 months related experience.

Department Preferences:

  • Knowledge of general University financial policies Familiarity with campus and University hiring processes.
