Position Introduction:

The University of Oklahoma seeks a collaborative, outcomes-driven Assistant Vice Provost for Career Success to make OU a national leader in preparing students for lives of success, meaning, service, and positive impact. Reporting to the Senior Vice Provost for Student Success, the Assistant Vice Provost will lead the design and implementation of OU Career Advantage; a coordinated, university-wide approach that begins career exploration early, embeds readiness in the academic experience, expands access to applied learning, and connects students with OU's alumni and employer networks for long-term career success.

The position will have a dotted line to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students to coordinate activities and initiatives within Student Affairs. OU has strong career programs, talented staff, active alumni, and deep employer relationships. The opportunity is to connect, scale, and measure those assets.

The Assistant Vice Provost will align a distributed ecosystem around common goals while respecting the distinctive needs of colleges, disciplines, and student populations. The successful leader will combine academic credibility, enterprise change leadership, operational discipline, and an unwavering focus on student outcomes. The Assistant Vice Provost serves as the Provost's senior leader for career success and as the principal architect of OU Career Advantage.

The position provides strategic leadership to the central Career Center and convenes college career hubs, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Major/Career Exploration, Alumni Affairs, Advancement, Corporate Relations, faculty leaders, and other partners around a common operating model and ecosystem that collectively supports career readiness for every OU student. Central operations and enterprise initiatives are managed through the Assistant Vice Provost's portfolio; college-based teams remain accountable within their colleges while operating under shared university standards, learning outcomes, data definitions, technology, training, brand, and performance expectations.
