Pay Range: Targeted salary up to $60,400.00/year, based on education and experience

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (may include some weekends)

Travel: May be required

Position Introduction:

The Building Operations Administrator for the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History will oversee all day-to-day operations of the physical building, which includes the Security, Facility, and Custodial departments. This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, security, and safety of the museum. The Building Operations Administrator reports to the Director and will work closely with other staff to help implement the operational aspects of the Museum. The position requires a strategic thinker who will proactively recognize operational efficiency needs, anticipate issues and opportunities, and recommend value-added solutions. The candidate will possess progressive experience in facilities management, residential or commercial construction, general-contracting experience and/or combined education and experience, preferably in a cultural institution. The Building Operations Administrator must have strong interpersonal skills and be a team player with the ability to work with staff and stakeholders.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  •  5 years of experience in building operations maintenance, facilities management, or related discipline

Required Certifications and Licenses:

None

Department Preferences:

  • State of Oklahoma Journeyman License preferred
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of the trade (facilities, maintenance, construction, safety and security, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) and in interpreting blueprints, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge and experience with building mechanical and engineering systems, including temperature control systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working in a museum or cultural organization.
