Pay Range: Targeted salary $50,300 annually, based on experience and education

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., may include some weekends

Position Introduction:

Under supervision from the Senior Interior Designer of A&E Services, the Graphic Designer at A&E Services develops interior branding, graphic and interior experiences through interior finish, product, graphic and signage specifications for new capital project construction and space renovations. Prepares architectural and interior layouts as well as space layouts and drafting. Prepares branding graphics and signage with layouts and specifications, prepares orders and oversees installation of new furnishings. Manages signage and building branding. Performs graphic design of visuals for different levels of interior design through signage, graphics and branding. Consults with other University staff/faculty to gather project scope and space requirements for new buildings or renovation projects. Serves as the main contact for clients, vendors and contractors providing regular project progress reports and coordinating information. Formulates original design responses using appropriate media, materials, tools, technology, platforms, and techniques to create visual experiences. Applies multiple ideation and analytical strategies throughout the design process. Incorporates exemplary design principles (composition, balance, hierarchy, harmony, and contrast). Aligns graphic approach and content with industry best practices and unit guidelines. Employs effective composition and color theory that consider focal point, eye path, and value. Ensures projects are completed in a timely manner and on budget. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 12 months of graphic design experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 60 months of related experience.

Department Preferences:

  • Experience working under a licensed Interior Designer.
