Pay Range: Salary is commensurate based on education and experience. Hiring is typically aligned with the established OU salary range midpoint for the position classification, consistent with university compensation guidelines.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (may include some weekends)

Position Introduction:

This is a combined post and may be filled at the Internal Auditor or Senior Internal Auditor level, based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute risk-based internal audits and advisory engagements
  • Evaluate internal controls, compliance, and operational effectiveness
  • Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Communicate results through clear, concise reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop practical, value-added recommendations
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation within the audit function

Minimum Qualifications:

Internal Auditor

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 108 months of experience.

Preferences:

  • Professional certifications (CIA, CPA, CISA, CFE), or progress toward certification
  • Experience in internal or external audit, compliance, or risk management
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO, IIA Standards)
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, IDEA, ACL)

Senior Internal Auditor

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in public accounting, internal audit or professional consulting.
  • Certified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

Preferences:

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or progress towards certification.
  • Experience in internal or external audit, compliance, or risk management
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO, IIA Standards)
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, IDEA, ACL)
