Position Introduction:

Join OU Information Technology and be part of a team that advances the University of Oklahoma's purpose: We Change Lives. Our work supports student success, research innovation, operational excellence, and meaningful service to our university community. If you are driven to solve complex problems, strengthen critical systems, and use technology to create lasting impact across One OU, we invite you to bring your talent, curiosity, and commitment to a team where your work matters.

The University of Oklahoma Information Technology department is seeking an IT System Support Administrator to serve as a dedicated technical resource embedded within the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Working closely with faculty, staff, students, and the College's IT Strategist, this position provides advanced support for instructional computing environments, endpoint management, storage systems, identity and access administration, academic technology deployments, and specialized software platforms. The successful candidate will help maintain and enhance technology environments that support journalism, strategic communication, media production, broadcasting, digital storytelling, and professional learning experiences.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on technical work with relationship building, problem solving, and project coordination. The position offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of technologies while directly impacting the success of students, faculty, and staff in an innovative academic environment.

Skills:

  • Experience supporting instructional computing labs, classroom technology, or academic technology environments in higher education.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft Intune, JAMF, or similar endpoint management platforms.
  • Experience supporting Windows and macOS devices in enterprise environments.
  • Experience administering file storage systems, network shares, permissions, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, security groups, or distribution groups.
  • Experience supporting specialized instructional, creative, or production software such as Adobe Creative Cloud or other media-focused applications.
  • Experience supporting technology used in journalism, communications, broadcasting, video production, digital media, audio production, or related academic disciplines.
  • Experience managing or supporting computer labs, editing suites, media production environments, or specialized instructional computing spaces.
  • Experience coordinating technical projects, technology refresh efforts, software deployments, or system migrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance independent technical work with collaboration across multiple teams and priorities.
