Position Introduction

The University Counseling Center (UCC) is seeking a counselor to provide services to our university community. Our counseling center provides services to students, faculty and staff that include individual, couples and group counseling; crisis intervention; case management; outreach; and supervision of students in training. The center directs a masters practicum program. The UCC is comprised of a diverse staff including psychologists, psychiatrists, licensed professional counselors and social workers. The center is a warm and supportive environment and encourages healthy work-life balance.

Required Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Relations, or related field.
  • 24 months of professional Counseling experience.

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • Licensed Master of Social Work, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Work, or Licensed Psychologist or ability to obtain one of the aforementioned licenses within 18 months of hire date.

Department Preferences

  • Experience working in a college or university counseling center.
  • Experience with provision of clinical supervision to trainees.
  • Strong professional interest and experience working with a diverse student population.
  • Interest and/or experience in providing outreach programming to student body/campus partners.
