Pay Range: Targeted salary $72,500 annually, based on experience

Position Introduction:

The Sooner's Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory's Manufacturing and Integration Specialist will support the fabrication and integration of components using additive and traditional manufacturing equipment available in the lab. This individual will program and operate various metal additive manufacturing, and CNC machines to produce finished components, fixturing, and tooling integral to the production of various engineering systems. This individual will also assist in electrical and mechanical integration to support research projects and educational activities.

Job Duties:

Supervises student technicians, assigns workload, ensures adherence to safety and quality standards, and supports training and professional development. Prepares solid models to input into various CAM systems depending on part requirements. Assists with DFM process by providing component level input regarding manufacturability and material selection. Performs solid modeling of fixturing and workholding components. Conducts assembly, routing, and testing of control and power circuits and hydraulic and pneumatic circuits for various subsystems. Assist with metal additive manufacturing process by providing inputs regarding manufacturability and material selection. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or related field or equivalent military/work experience.
  • 36 months of machine tool operation including programming and workholding concepts. 24 months of electrical and/or mechanical experience including assembly, integration, and troubleshooting.

Department Preferences:

  • Understanding of additive manufacturing, especially metal-related.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Work, etc.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency in machining operations, cutter geometries based on materials, orders of operations, and concepts. Proficiency reading and understanding mechanical diagrams and schematics.
