Pay Range: Targeted salary $25.24 per hour based on experience

Work Schedule: M-F, 3pm - 11pm

Position Introduction:

OU Facilities is hiring a Street Light Technician through OU's PEAK Temporary Staffing.

Essential Duties:

Under direct supervision, assist with routine maintenance to include installing, troubleshooting, servicing, inspecting, and repairing street light equipment and associated electrical system.

  • Assist with installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing streetlights
  • Assist with troubleshooting streetlight circuits and associated electrical equipment
  • Assist with cutting, threading, and bonding conduit; Assemble and replace conduit, conduit fittings, junction boxes and supports as associated with power supply to streetlights
  • Assist with streetlight pole setting
  • Locate and repair electrical wiring associated with streetlights
  • Assist with testing streetlight circuits
  • Use common hand tools, tubing, and conduit benders, power tools, and ladders. Participate in training and education activities as required
  • Perform various duties as needed to successfully fulfil the function of the position to include assisting any skilled trade.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED or Trade School Certification
  • 24 months electrical experience.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date
  • Must hold a current electrical journeyman's license with the State of Oklahoma.

Department Preferences:

  • At least 6 months electrical experience on streetlights
