Position Introduction:

The ECEI is searching for multiple part-time research associates to administer educational assessments to 8th grade participants of our SEED (School Experiences and Early Development) study. These positions are short-term, temporary data collection positions that involve training on multiple assessments, traveling to middle schools in the Tulsa and surrounding areas, and administering assessments, scoring them, and entering data. The position requires a bachelor’s degree and some early childhood or research experience.

Representative Duties:

  • Data Collection. Collects various forms of data pertaining to the research project. Develops expertise in a variety of assessment tools, designed for use with middle school aged children. 
  • Record Keeping. Keeps record of information obtained during research, which may include a database of information, hard files, etc. Enters data, proofs and checks data entry. Follows standard protocols for data entry and checking. Distributes incentives to project participants. 
  • Collaboration. Collaborates with other researchers and staff. Participates in project and institute-wide meetings.

Position Requirements:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood, Psychology or related field preferred. 

Experience:  Research, early childhood or social service background preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/ and Other Characteristics: 

  • Excellent computer, research and oral/ written communication skills.
  • Scheduling flexibility needed; must be able to travel locally.
  • Must be available to work at least 3-5 days per week, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Preference given to those who can work 4-5 days.

SEED part-time research associates will begin work in early November 2026 and work through May 2027.
