Position Introduction:

The Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) is seeking experienced technical software engineers.

This position serves as a Senior Engineer in the design and implementation of software architecture for radar & equipment monitoring and control.

A qualified candidate should have a Bachelor's in an engineering discipline and at least 60 months of software development experience, including C++, Python and familiarity with Linux.

This position will be expected to:

  • Architect and implement frameworks, APIs, and control layers to enable system functionality.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Linux daemons and services for system critical high-performance, multi-threaded applications.
  • Code, debug, and test system software.
  • Collaborate closely with functional teams including EE, FPGA, and platforms teams to create processing, control, and validation solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve low-level OS issues, networking bottlenecks, and hardware-software integration challenges
  • Provide consulting to system-level designs, including costing, lead times, and alternative solutions.
  • May lead a functional team.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 60 months of embedded software experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 108 months of related experience.

Department Preferences:

  • Possess a current DoD security clearance or has the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
