Pay Range: Targeted salary $9.50 hourly, based on experience.

Work Schedule: Flexible up to 20 hours/week. May include some evenings.

Position Introduction:

The Division of Access & Opportunity is seeking student assistants who are dependable, welcoming, and ready to support a fast-paced, student-focused environment. While positions may be assigned to a specific office or department, student assistants serve the division as a whole and should be prepared to assist wherever support is needed, including front desk coverage, office support, events, and special projects. This is a great opportunity for students who are adaptable, professional, and interested in contributing to the success of the broader OU community.

Serves as the primary point of contact for the Division of Access & Opportunity front desk in Copeland Hall, providing welcoming, accurate, and timely assistance to students, visitors, and campus partners. Supports daily front desk operations, assists with event setup and breakdown, and helps maintain an organized, student-ready office environment.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be enrolled in the current semester at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of student status.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming and professional front desk experience
  • Greet guests and answer office phone
  • Respond to general inquiries and perform data entry
  • Complete administrative and clerical tasks (filing, copying, document prep)
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in sensitive situations
  • Support daily office operations and shared spaces
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown
  • Track and maintain inventory and supplies
  • Support division programming, meetings, and events

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Professional interaction with diverse groups
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Department Preferences:

  • Availability for morning or evening shifts
  • 6–12 months customer service experience
