Position Introduction:

This student worker position will support ongoing activities of the Russell Center, which is a research center focused on the Art of the American West housed in the Old Faculty Club on Boyd Street. They will populate the information desk in the library during open hours, help readers access resources, and reshelve resources after use; they will assist with ongoing projects at the Center related to research on the art of the American West and the Charles Russell catalogue raisonné project; support digitization of archives housed at the Center and curation of online resources, cataloguing archival and research materials; help with social media posts; and assist with events, including planning, set up and clean up.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma as a sophomore or higher in standing.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
  • Must attach Fall 2026 class schedule
  • Must be currently enrolled in 12 hours for the Spring 2027 Term

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of art history and research
  • Organization and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task

Department Preferences:

Experience with art history classes
