The Beacon Project - Pantry Assistant

Duties Include:

  • Greeting and engaging visitors
  • Logging and storing donations
  • Stocking, organizing, inventory, counting, packing food boxes, lifting heavy boxes, breaking down boxes
  • Sweeping, mopping, cleaning the bathroom, taking out trash
  • Light computer work and filing
  • Assisting Pantry Coordinator, Board, and Team Member
  • Maintaining the online inventory system for donations and distributions
  • Packing food boxes, breaking down boxes
  • Lifting heavy boxes (30 pounds)
  • Working with and around minors/teens so discretion is required
  • We have a strict privacy policy due to the circumstances and age of our clientele (minors) so selfies, videos, etc. are not allowed in or around our location.
  • Candidate will have to sign a confidentiality agreement

Skills:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Organized, friendly, and have a positive attitude
  • No smoking/vaping/drinking/drugs/weapons on or near premises.
  • Familiar office equipment
  • Bilingual - Spanish preference
  • The dress code is casual, with a neat, clean appearance. Avoid clothing that is overly revealing or has offensive patterns or slogans.
  • Torso must be covered.
  • Closed-toed shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Advertised Physical Requirements
  • Standard office environment
  • Must be able to lift boxes, cans, etc (5-15lbs)
